Rating: 4 :: Clinical Inspiration Reading BRANDED DEPRESSED reveals the strength and courage the author had to have to face her depression, as well as our health care system, with virtually no support. The author wins my support and admiration to write such a painful story and still keep her sense of humor. This book is an inspiration to me to face anything from PMS to clinical depression.

The author courageously speaks out about the pain and despair, and the ups and downs of being caught in the tentacles of clinical depression. Ms. Rothenberger demonstrates to the reader the challenges of maintaining a marriage, raising a daughter, working, entering therapy and conduction an on-going search for help to confront rather then succumb to the depression. The author reveals a talent for writing that is honest, direct, and well researched. It makes a contributing to the gathering of knowledge, which is needed to make bipolar depression understandable enough to treat with success. We who are associated with survivors. who have been victorious, need to know also what they are dealing with. This book is for everyone.
Rating: 5 :: Surprise! It's Called Depression This book is absolutely intriguing from the first page to the last. It takes the reader on a journey from childhood to adulthood hitting the bumps in the road which are depression. Details are what set this book apart from the rest. You feel as if the author has written this book just for you and is there talking to you with a cup of tea.
At times the passage is very dark, especially when the author talks about her suicide attempts. Because of the authors depression, her family became dysfunctional and withdrew from the normal operation as a family. Consequently, her marriage ended in divorce. Her work suffered but she managed to call a truce with corporate America. This work takes you into the labrynth of therapy, psychotherapy, counselors and psychiatrists. It painlessly takes you into the world of each one with some recommendations. The book ends on an upbeat note and you feel good about yourself where you are finished reading. You don't need to be depressed to read this book. It is a journey for everyone.
