Obama is not a friend to persons with disabilities

Update: Joe Biden said to the perky Katie girl (she’s still perky) that he thought this ad was terrible. Then he said he thought for sure Obama didn’t know about it. I thought the message at the end of ads “I’m some candidate and I approved this ad” meant the candidate viewed the ad and gave it the seal of approval.

Good for Biden for saying it was a bad ad, but surely he doesn’t believe Obama didn’t know? If so…the clue train forgot to stop at the Biden Station.

All it would have taken was a simple “No, we did not know John McCain couldn’t type on a computer because of his war injuries.”

And a sincere apology.

Instead, as this clip shows, Obama spokesman Bill Burton fumbles around and talks out of his ass. His jumping around and outright refusal to answer the question (did you know?) makes it pretty clear they DID know. Otherwise, why not just get yourself off the hook?

As an activist for mental health rights (and overall disability issues), I’m pissed off.

If you’re willing to mock your opponent for something that arises from his disability, then you are no friend to persons with disabilities.

Why would this be any different than mocking one’s religion or race?

Nothing else matters. Case closed.
